So far, I think that my blog has been looking good. Although I do believe that it has some potential for creativity to jump out at the reader some more. I have taken the advice from the professor when it comes to adding visuals. As a reader, I know that when I am reading a blog, it is important that there is some type of visual that pops out to me. Therefore, I am able to make a connection with the text. I have examined some other peoples blogs and have found where my mistakes are. I am at the moment still flustered with new ideas to improve the blog. I can say that I am satisfied with the progress so far.

Visual Success
Visual Miscue (Misunderstood)!!!!!
This is a visual of the new face for the Sony Ericsson phone. I was reading a statement where a person had said that they thought that the advertisement was for the model alone. They continued to say that later on, they realized the connection the model and the phone had. Despite, the words on the ad, sometimes we can confuse our audience if our pictures dont coincide with the our words.

My Type of Ad
For the final project, I plan to do an Ad on the newest DVD that Sony will be offering to customers who can produce their own ringtones. I will market this ad through the internet, the television commercials, and also through the ads in the newspaper. I would like the Ad to be directed to consumers of all ages but specifically for the consumers with creative minds.

A recommendation for a friend
Dear Sam,
I have been enjoying some great music for the past three months and it has all been because of Sony. 8 out of 10 of the artists that I have listened to are all under SONY'S labels and they have been terrific. Stop being unsatisfied with the cd's that you have been buying. They are reliable and you will walk away feeling like you have definitely spent your money in the right place. Another great reason to stick to SONY'S artists is that you can write them about any questions that you would have and they will get back to you in no time. Its worth the time, trust me.

Memo of congratulations
Dear Sony,
I would like to conratulate you on the success you have gained over the past couple of months. In SONY'S creative department, it shows the hard work and dedication that has been put into the projects. Congratulations on releasing 1000 ringtones, a new DVD containing a collection of ringtones grouped into music, sound effects, and spoken word categories. The fans seem pleased. Continue to work hard and even bigger things will come your way.

Success through the Ads or not!-November
I think that these companies know what they are putting on the ads and they sometimes assume what kind of success the ad may bring. In the ads above, I believe that because these two stars are such important models of our time, they knew that success was brewing not too far away. I am positive that SONY BMG chooses who they put up because they know what consumers want and they give it to them.

Our Leading Lady and The King of Pop-November
The first ad is a picture of one of the leading ladies in music today, Beyonce Knowles. Sony is congratulating her for being Billboards Top Woman of the year.
The second ad is an visual of Michael Jackson's new movie "This Is It." This ad gives a first look at what you are going to expect from the "King of Pop." As an entertainer, he took the world by force, and this ad shows nothing less.

MY ANALYSIS
My analysis on this SONY Report for 2008 is that this report was well put together. Within those 106 pages, there are detailed reports on departments that make up SONY BMG along with SONY Electronics. From the financial point of view to a brief statement from the CFO, this report could not have been formatted any better. The fact that it was presented in PDF form allows the viewer to go through each page and read the reports given. If I had to give this report a grade, it would be an A for detail and precise information.
Promotional Proposal

In this PDF, SONY gives us an annual report of the financial highlights, a business overview, review of operations, a message from the CFO, and many other parts that make up this corporation.

INTERNAL PROPOSAL
There are three steps to writing reports and proposals. The first one is to identify your purpose clearly to avoid rework. The second one is to prepare a work plan to guide the research and writing tasks. The third one says to determine whether a separate research project might be needed to gather the necessary information and the fourt step says to choose the medium or media in some cases that meets the needs of your audience. The fifth and final step says to organize your information by selecting the best approach for an informational or analytical report. I am sure that SONY uses or has used these steps while writing their proposals. Sony most times uses Internal Proposals which happens among managers within the organization having to make decisions involving equipment and other things. These written proposals can either make or break SONY and keep it going for the future.

The Letter to SC Johnson
Dear SC Johnson,
I had a slight complaint based on your product which is known as Scrubbing Bubbles. I just wanted to know why is it that for so long I have been using your product and all of a sudden, it doesnt work as well as it used to. I dont know if its something new that you have added in the can but I havent been receiving the results that I usually get when I use scrubbing bubbles. Please get back to me as soon as possible.
Your faithful customer,

Emotional Branding Today
"The Persuaders" documentary focused very well on a tactic that has been used over time to capture society's attention. It is called Emotional Branding. It is simply trying to get the buyers to find a spirtual and emotional connection to the product of their choice. A woman in the video spoke about Polaroid and said "Polaroid isn't a camera, its a social lubricant." These are some of the things that consumers often think to themselves when buying a product. Sony BMG Records would have an emotional connection with their consumers based on the music alone. Many buyers do not purchase a cd or a collection if it is not something that speaks to them in an emotional way and many other ways.
Important Research
Chapter 11 gives in depth information on how solid research is done. One of the many points that they give says "Dont force a specific outcome by skewing your research. For a company like Sony, it is very important for them to know where this information is coming from and who is going to see it. Therefore the information has to be precise and direct. Not having the right information can cause harm to an artist in the company and definitely to the company.
Presentations with Slides and other Visuals
So in the world today, everything is interpreted differently. Each individual understands in a different way. Visuals have become more useful as we progress in the technicpal world. It is used for many different purposes but can be very useful in the workplace. Slide shows and presentations are said to help your audience to understand you and your presentation better.
Chapter 5
It is very important to know the messages that you are trying to give to your audiences. Many times messages are put out with intents that are unknown. That is why people are sometimes confused due to the fact that the messages are not direct. In chapter 5, which is based on "Writing Business Messages gives some pointers on how "Communicating Across Cultures." It says to 1. Consider the readers perspectives. 2. Take cultural differences into account. 3. Keep the message clear. 4. Complement language with visuals and 5. Consult local expert. By using these techniques, we could be guaranteed a shot at reaching an internatinal audience.

Still Undecided
So at this present time, I am still undecided about what I am going to specifically do with my project. What I do know is that I will be doing to the presentation on SONY. I havent compiled all of my information and put them together yet. By this evening, I will definitely know what the main point of my presentation will be on.

Learning to listen to others in the workplace
Chapter 2 speaks in depth about how teams are important and also how non verbal communication can be recieved when it is done the right way. A great example of how SONY Records works was something that I observed while I was there for an interview. Team work seemed to be in progress all over the building but particularly on the floor that I had been on. As I walked past meetings in progress, I realized how well the people were communicating with one another. In the hallways, business communication was happening in all different forms but most importantly, I saw for myself how well the etiquette in the workplace was and how each person seemed to care about one another's craft in the group. In chapter 2, that is apart of the listening process, and through the listening process, if its being done correctly, you would be able to work better with your fellow employees.

The Importance of Diversity / Writing Business Letters
When it comes to diversity, SONY has mastered the skill of learning to market to all races and genders. They recieved the 1st Diversity Management Award. They use diversity to drive their success as a global company. They market to a diverse world by offering jobs to individuals with different backgrounds. They definitely do not market to one type of group; that is evident in their multiple record companies that cater to different genres of music. In chapter 5, they talk about knowing how to write proper business letters and even ads. I am sure that SONY has a specific department that is responsible for writing letters and putting out ads that will attract buyers.

The Importance of being persuasive.
In Chapter 10, we see that being persuasive especially while writing business messages is very helpful and there are important points that can help us in the future in the job environment. One of the eye catching points made in the chapter was being able to structure your message using the AIDA model. The AIDA model stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. All of these points all are geared to your audience and how your message can be better put across to them. The AIDA plan is not only used as indirect approach but also as a direct approach. The chapter also goes into discussion on how to balance emotional and logical appeals when speaking to audience members. So this chapter not only explains how to be persuasive while presenting your product to an audience but if you look closely, you will see that some of these techniques can be used in everyday life.
Enhancing presentations- September
There are so many ways that you can enhance your presentations. There are visuals that you can add. There are also different different pointers that you can use to make your presentation easier to understand. Throughout the Chapter, there are pointers that you can use to enhance your presentation. Personally I use notes that I take while reasearching different ideas. I write them down and try to add them when Im completing the project in the end. So at that point, my presentation would have had some type of better quality.
